Good morning Diverse Romance Readers! This week, we caught up with author C.L Donley to ask her a few questions about her book, The Book of Adam and Jo. Enjoy this short interview!
Interview question #1: Describe what your hero and heroine would consider the perfect date night.
Movie theaters, clubs, drive-ins, etc. anyplace where they can properly sneak off and make out without getting caught.
Interview question #2: What does your hero love about your heroine and what does your heroine love about your hero?
Adam loves that Jo is a tiny woman but she packs a big punch. She isn’t intimidated by him or his belief system, and that even though they disagree, she genuinely respects him. Jo loves that Adam is sort a rebel but he’s genuine. She’s drawn to the way that Adam doesn’t pull punches and challenges her, but is fiercely protective of her at the same time.
Interview question #3: For your hero and heroine, was it love at first sight or lust at first sight?
Probably a bit of both.
This thing me and Jo have, it’s real dangerous. And not just because of who we are.
Passion. It’s reckless. Doesn’t care who sees or what it costs. It’s good if you have a little. Just enough to aim and shoot. Hit your goal. But it shouldn’t be spilling all over the place. Damn. I knew the danger. The whole time. She seemed a little lonely, but she seemed decent. Moral. Had her head in the right place. I just can’t remember why I thought that would keep me safe. Why would a woman not have the power to consume me, just because she was decent and moral? Since when did pure oxygen become less of a threat to a match?
But then, a wild, stubborn, loudmouth son of a bitch like me definitely shoulda kept her safe. So I don’t know what the hell is goin’ on.
