Good morning, Book Lovers!
We recently caught up with author Brooklyn Knight to chat with her about her book, Five Years. Enjoy this short interview and be sure to download this amazing book today!
Interview question #1: Describe what your hero and heroine would consider the perfect date night.
A night in, cooking together; or a night out at a venue Maverick has completely rented out.
Interview question #2: What does your hero love about your heroine and what does your heroine love about your hero?
Maverick loves Amaris’s even temperament and the way she accepts him for who he is, flaws and all. Amaris loves Maverick’s intensity and the way he challenges her to consider her imperfections.
Interview question #3: For your hero and heroine, was it love at first sight or lust at first sight?
It was definitely love at first sight, but of course, they had to navigate the ethical considerations related to Amaris’s professional role.
Maverick
I know it’s not right to want her as much as I do. In fact, it makes absolutely no sense. Our relationship is strictly professional and I get that. She’s my therapist, for Christ’s sake; but I can’t help but think she’s everything I’ve ever needed. She says the way she treats me is part of her job and nothing more. She said my response is the result of transference, but hell – the only thing I want to transfer to Amaris Flowers is the unbridled brunt of my passion until she’s screaming my name, over and over. Her Code of Ethics dictates that she can’t engage me for five years.
That’s fine with me.
I’ll wait.
Amaris
The minute Maverick Dangerfield walks into my office, I can immediately assess his energy: he’s cocky and grandiose – used to getting just what he wants, when he wants. He’s also sexy as hell, and it’s not long before I find myself pulling on every part of my clinical training to ignore the things he’s projecting. When he walks into our session and announces that he’s quitting therapy, I’m shocked.
And relieved.
But when he reveals that he’s only ending because he plans to wait out the five years, I know that trouble is on the horizon. Like I said: this man is used to getting what he wants, and I have a feeling that by the time five years is up, he’s going to get it.
