Q & A with author DL White.

Today we have a special treat for you. We have two interviews. Not one. Two!! We had the pleasure of chatting with author DL White about her books, A Thin Line and The Guy Next Door. Enjoy these short interviews and be sure to purchase her amazing books!

First up, A Thin Line…..

Interview question #1: Describe what your hero and heroine would consider the perfect date night.

Since Angie and Preston are true enemies at the beginning of this novel and their attraction to each other thrives on competition, they’d get a kick out of a few rounds of Nerf Blast — running around a maze of sorts, trying to shoot Nerf balls at one another, followed by a hearty meal and over consumption of drinks. Preston and Angie love time alone but their friends are family. They’d share the experience, but finally as a couple and not as people who hate each other.

Interview question #2: What does your hero love about your heroine and what does your heroine love about your hero?

Preston loves that Angie is unfailingly loyal. Once you’re in good standing with her, she’ll fight to the ends of the earth and sacrifice for the people she loves. He just wants to be one of those people.

Angie loves that Preston doesn’t ever give up. He’s determined, focused, a hard, unrelenting driving force. Even when every sign is no, he keeps going until he gets what he wants.

Interview question #3: For your hero and heroine, was it love at first sight or lust at first sight?

This is a hard question. My hero and heroine have known each other their whole lives and fell in love in high school, but it wasn’t until the hormones of the teen years were set aflame that they acted on any attraction to one another. For Angie, she was indifferent to boys and relationships until Preston. Preston was all about Angie, from moment one- every thing he did, even in high school, was about getting Angie to like him. I’d say lust for Angie… love for Preston.

Angie Blake and Preston Reid are oil and water, fire and ice. Whether it’s in the courtroom, where they’re always in opposition, or in their personal lives, they don’t mix.

Nearly two decades have passed since they were high school sweethearts and split in an emotional firestorm, but their best friends are dating, and now engaged so they haven’t had a moment’s peace from each other. And they won’t get one since the soon to be newlyweds have roped Angie and Preston into planning their destination wedding. They’ve been tasked with organizing the most romantic, memorable event of their lives without tearing apart the lifelong foursome in the process.

Angie and Preston are wise to this game. This clever ploy to push them back together in the hopes that their long-dead romance will rekindle couldn’t possibly work.

Interview question #1: Describe what your hero and heroine would consider the perfect date night.

Taj and Evonne would probably spend the evening on the beach, on a blanket, drinking cheap but delicious wine and eating boozy donuts. Taj would make Evonne listen to all the songs he’s written that she refused to listen to. In return, Evonne would painstakingly describe each of her favorite episodes of her favorite true crime podcast THE BUTLER DID IT.

Interview question #2: What does your hero love about your heroine and what does your heroine love about your hero?

Evonne loves that Taj loves her exactly as she is. He’s not looking for a fairy tale version of a woman. He loves that she’s a beautiful mess and indulges in everything that makes her happy. Conversely, Evonne loves that Taj is an even keel and a balance to her life. He makes her think about what’s important, doesn’t let her dwell on the negative aspects. They fit together.

Interview question #3: For your hero and heroine, was it love at first sight or lust at first sight?

Definitely lust!

The magic of Potter Lake strikes again when Evonne Girard— cosmetologist and obsessed podcast fan meets Taj Wright— Registered Nurse and musician following a nasty fall in the parking lot at the Curl & Dye.
