This week, we caught up with author Loni London to ask her a few questions about her latest release, Love’s Dance. Enjoy!

Interview question #1: Describe what your hero and heroine would consider the perfect date night.

A dinner out, but not to anyplace fancy. They love a hole-in-the-spot local place that has great seafood. After casual dining, they’d head to the beach, and walk and dance on the sand.

Interview question #2: What does your hero love about your heroine and what does your heroine love about your hero?

Our heroine, Journey, loves how open our hero is, and how he loves her and accepts her for who she is, inside and out.

Our hero, Reid, loves Journey’s realness and honesty. Plus, she’s gorgeous!

Interview question #3: For your hero and heroine, was it love at first sight or lust at first sight?

Considering they knew each other years ago but never dated before, for various reasons, this time around, it was probably lust 🙂

When Journey Mills returns to her hometown of Miami to help out an old friend and start a new job, she doesn’t expect to run into her high school crush, Reid St. Cloud. They never ran in the same circles back in the day, and she figured her schoolgirl crush was just that — a crush that would never amount to anything more.

Now, more than ten years later, she’s surprised to run into him back home. After all, with his track star reputation and movie star good looks, Journey expected Reid to be somewhere else, living a glamorous life and doing amazing things.

She’s also surprised to see her old feelings for him resurface. Instead of the self-assured dance school instructor she’s become, she feels like the old, shy Journey she always was around him.

When Reid sees Journey again after a decade, he’s shocked by the depth of his attraction for her. No longer the wallflower he remembered from ten years ago, Journey is now a confident, sexy woman who draws him in from the start. Although his Olympic dreams never materialized, he’s made a comfortable living for himself in his hometown and made peace with those old ambitions.

Despite their attraction to each other, however, and before Journey and Reid can forge a lasting connection, someone from his past comes onto the scene. Reid’s ex-flame has her eyes on him and she’ll stop at nothing to sink her claws into the man she wants.
Who will Reid choose? The comfort of the familiar or the woman who makes his heart dance every time she smiles?

excerpt

Journey hung up, ready to tell Reid they could leave. But when she walked back into the classroom, he’d connected his phone to the Bluetooth speaker the teachers used in there. Kem’s mellow voice filled the air as Reid swayed back and forth, his eyes closed. For a few moments, Journey just watched him, his body barely moving, his lips mouthing words that she couldn’t hear over the music. She thought that she could stand there and watch him forever, his perfect skin and smooth movements alluring and inviting. Who knew Reid St. Cloud could move like that?
His eyes popped open then and Journey felt herself blushing. He’d caught her staring at him. With his lips curving into an irresistible smile, he reached out both hands.
She pointed at herself, her eyebrows raised.
He wants to dance, with me?
“It’s nobody else here, Journey, so come on,” he said, waving her forward.
She stepped toward him, but stopped when she was within arm’s reach. How was it that she was so used to dancing — hell, it was her job — but when faced with the prospect of dancing with a man she was wildly attracted to, she couldn’t get her feet to move?
Luckily, Reid wasn’t as frozen as she was. He stepped forward and placed one hand around her lower back, leaving his other one hanging in the air. She put her hand in his and his warm fingers closed over hers. As if by instinct, she rested the side of her face against his chest and instantly, he began to sway again. She moved along with him, surprised by how easy it all seemed. It was as if they’d rehearsed a routine together and practiced for weeks. He gently pressed her closer to him, until there was no space between their bodies. Journey closed her eyes and let the music wash over her, along with the heady sensation of being wrapped inside Reid’s embrace. As far as she was concerned, there was nothing else outside of this.
Just him, her, and the music.
